The Life Boat program is a series of one-on-one studies. It is designed for pregnant women to assist in decision-making and parenting preparation. Life Boat is an opportunity to further examine this important time in your life.

Getting to Know Myself
How do you react when things are going well, or not so well? How do you perceive yourself and how do you think your friends perceive you? Explore such topics as your family background, dating experiences and your thoughts on religion.

My Life At Present
How have you been coping since you first heard you were pregnant? We discuss your priorities and how these may change when your baby arrives.

Making Good Decisions
What areas of your life have shaped you into the person you are today? Do most of the decisions you make in life conform to your value system and priorities? This is the time to think about what goals you want to strive for in the years to come.

To Parent or Place
For many women, adoption is something that they instinctively feel guilty about considering. Sometimes adoption becomes an option that should be looked at seriously. Women choose to place their babies for adoption everyday, and while it is a difficult choice to make, it can also be a very positive decision.

Realities of Parenting
Many first-time parents do not think their lives will change and are surprised when it happens. This session discusses how your daily life will be different, and how a new baby can be something to look forward to.

Information, Support and Referrals
This session explores resources within Toronto that may assist you with your pregnancy and beyond.

Learning to Budget Wisely
For many people budgeting is a 'dirty word'. It reminds people of being restrained, having to sacrifice, and living a boring life. If this is what you think, you may be surprised to learn that budgeting can ease stress, and allow for the splurges we all love from time to time, without making you irresponsible or putting your financial situation or credit history in jeopardy.

Time Out for Teen Moms cares about pregnant teens and teen mothers.

Through one-on-one mentoring and support group meetings we are committed to helping teen moms complete a healthy pregnancy, adjust to motherhood and develop parenting skills. We also strive to help teen moms accomplish age appropriate steps towards independent living and complete their education.

Our purpose is to offer teen moms hope for the future, and to provide encouragement and support in a variety of ways for girls aged 13-22.

A loving and supervised childcare environment is provided for the children during our program.

Time Out for Teen Moms is approved for the LEAP parenting program and is a joint program of the Pregnancy Care Centre and Youth Unlimited in Toronto.
